Regional Referee Certification
AYSO National has created an online training module which serves as a prerequisite for classroom/field training for the AYSO Regional Referee certification training program.
There are several benefits to this new training format: -
- Time requirement. Overall volunteer time commitment is drastically reduced.
- Convenience. You can complete the online safe haven and online referee training components in the comfort of your home or office.
- Education. You may review the online course as many times you like. It’s a great refresher course before and during soccer seasons!
Getting Started
Here is how to get started with the AYSO Regional Referee Certification Training module(s).
1. You will need your AYSO ID to complete both the Safe Haven for Referees and Basic Referee Online Training courses.
If you already a registered volunteer then login at EAYSO to retrieve your AYSO ID. If you have not registered as a volunteer, please do so to get your AYSO ID.
AYSO ID is typically an 8 digit number as shown below: -

2. Access the Basic Referee Online Training here.
3. On the following page input your AYSO ID and last name, and click the login button.

4. Then, confirm your personal details on the page that follows and click on the “Enter AYSO Online Training” button.

5. You will then see a page similar to: -

Use the Next navigation button to get started.
6. When you complete the training, print out your certification to bring to the classroom/field training session.
7. Don’t forget to complete the Safe Haven for Referees and print out your pregame checklist.
Summary of Steps Necessary For Regional Referee Certification
In summary, in order to certify as a Regional Referee in Chino Hills Region 779, please complete the following steps: -
- Register as a volunteer on EAYSO to obtain your AYSO ID. If you are registering as a volunteer for Chino Hills Region #779, then you must print 2 copies, sign both, and mail both copies to: -AYSO – Region 779, 4195 Chino Hills Parkway, #286, Chino Hills, CA 91709. Please take care of this administrative item at your earliest convenience so that we can all get down to the fun task of refereeing!
- Complete the AYSO Safe Haven online training at your own leisure. Print out your completion certificate; it should look like (or something similar): -

- Complete the Basic Referee Online Training online training component at your own leisure. Print out your Regional Referee Certification: -

- Attend CH779 Referee Companion Course/Field Training. See Fall 2001 Training Schedule for dates and locations of these classes.
NOTE:You will not credit for the class until you properly complete the above steps.
